‘Entering the Old, Seeing the New’ Historical Guided Tour

11:00 – 11:30 | Approx. 30 minutes

Built in the early 20th century as part of the old Victoria Barracks, Roberts Block is nestled amidst the leafy mid-levels. Originally "Block E," a married soldiers' quarters, it was named after Brigadier (later Major-General) G.P. Roberts after WWII. Featuring red-brick columns, classical capitals, and open verandahs, this Edwardian Classical Revival building was graded as a Grade 1 historic building in 2009.

Following careful restoration, we invite participants to embark on an "Entering the Old, Seeing the New" journey, finding reflection and inspiration at the intersection of history and healing.

Venue: Ground Floor Exhibition Rooms G02-G04, Roberts Block

‘Traces of Art, Finding Self’ Creative Arts Space + Historical Guided Tour

14:00 – 15:30 | Approx. 90 minutes

In addition to touring the ground floor display rooms and outdoor areas, participants can delve into the creative arts space and discover their inner self.

Combining creative arts with historical discovery, this experience goes beyond structural exploration. Participants learn about the building's cultural context while engaging in artistic creation and sensory experiences to find healing and inspiration within the historic atmosphere. The experience is designed to soothe the mind, encouraging participants to reconnect with their bodies and breathing, observe architectural details through the tour, express themselves through art, and immerse themselves in a soothing soundscape.
